Terms of service
Last updated 28 September 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and digitalarc, a sole proprietorship in Colombo, Sri Lanka (“we”, “us”), for using Kinance. By creating an account you accept them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Kinance.
The service
Kinance helps you record income and spending, set budgets, and share a household’s money picture with the people you invite. It is a record-keeping tool. It does not move money, connect to your bank, or give financial, tax or legal advice. Totals and AI suggestions can be wrong, so check anything important.
Your account
- You must be 18 or older to hold an account. Children use Kinance through a profile a parent or guardian creates and supervises.
- Keep your login safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- You own the data you enter. You let us store and process it only to provide the service, as our privacy policy describes.
- In a shared workspace, its owner decides who joins. Entries you add there stay part of that workspace’s records if you leave.
Plans, trial and billing
- New accounts get a 14-day free trial of the full app. No card is needed to start it. If you choose a plan during the trial, Dodo Payments saves your card and charges it only when the trial ends.
- After the trial, a paid plan (Personal or Family, monthly or yearly) is needed to keep adding and changing data. You can still sign in, view, export and delete your data without one.
- Plans are sold by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, which charges you and issues your invoice. Prices are shown before you pay, including any tax Dodo must collect.
- Plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel any time in Settings; the plan runs until the end of the period you paid for.
- We may change prices. You’ll get at least 30 days’ notice, and the new price applies from your next renewal.
- Refunds follow our refund policy.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Kinance to break the law, to store other people’s data without the right to, to attack or overload the service, to get around plan limits, or to resell it.
Ending the agreement
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after warning you where we reasonably can. If we ever shut Kinance down, we’ll give at least 60 days’ notice so you can export your data, and refund any unused prepaid time.
Availability and liability
We work to keep Kinance running and your data safe, including daily backups, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can’t be excluded.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Kinance after that means you accept the new terms.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Colombo handle disputes. If you live in the EU or UK, you also keep the protection of your local consumer law. Before going to court, please email [email protected] so we can try to fix it.
